從前去pub也常點 Sex and the City 裡面的 Carrie 最愛的 Cosmopolitan。

Kizuna

English Version

Kizuna

Thank you for the Kizuna.

Kizuna-the bonds of friendship

One month has passed since an earthquake of unprecedented scale struck Japan taking thousands of precious lives. Even today, evacuation shelters are still the only refuge for more than 150,000 people.

In the tsunami-devastated regions there was no food, no water, no electricity and the survivors had no communications. At that desperate time people from around the world rallied to our side bringing hope and inspiring courage.

Every blanket and every cup of hot soup brought warmth and strength to the cold and exhausted who had lost everything. Rescue teams heroically searched for survivors in the heaps of broken rubble, while medical teams worked tirelessly caring for the injured.

We are still receiving a tremendous outpouring of encouragement, prayers and support from people worldwide. We deeply appreciate the Kizuna our friends around the world have shown and I want to thank every nation, entity, and you personally, from the bottom of my heart.

Reconstruction has already begun and we are putting every effort into stabilizing the situation at the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant.

Through our own efforts and with the help of the global community, Japan will recover and come back even stronger. We will then repay you for your generous aid.

With this in our hearts, we now stand together dedicated to rebuilding the nation.

As our feelings of deep gratitude to you grow into feelings of hope, we, the people of Japan, express our sincere thanks to you all.

Prime Minister of Japan

Thank you for the Kizuna.(謝謝您給予的情誼紐帶)

A Friend In Need Is A Friend Indeed

Catch me if you can,結果看著看著,正要結束的時候不見了。

talking nonsense as usual

a bit down. might find the reason of my headache. a depressing one. well, it takes time to face it and i know i’ll be fine. a bit, hmm, shocked? guess so. wow. sigh. not sure how to feel now. well, still thankful that english helps me to get the information i need. the best thing i guess. not just a job but a very useful tool. try to write a bit so i won’t feel too bad to sleep. this is just life. there are so many more things i have to face. somehow i guess dying young isn’t that bad though it’s not an option. what if it were an option, what would people choose to do? can’t help thinking about this. what would i do? not sure. good that there’s no such difficult thing in life i have to deal with. my mood changes so quickly and when you feel differently, you have different choices. if there’s such an option, ha ha, it’s too late before you regret your choice.

I was fooled!

You know that’s why I like you.
Today is not my day.
Exhausted though i didn’t do much today. not sure why. my eyes are closing. just one more thing. last time i tried to write something in english, and i found it  became a bit more difficult for me. typing is fast and easy but how to arrange words, express my thoughts became a bit difficult. wow. you know how fast you can lose something if you don’t practice it often. so i wrote five emails to my friends that night. lucky me, i guess. at least i still have friends who i can send them english email to practice my english writing and of course they are all good friends so i want to say hi, hello and know how they have been, and perhaps i can visit them sometime this year.  got some shocking news. it’s kind of sad, and how something small will change your life and make you a different person. scary. sigh. well, another thing i remember is the cooking show i saw last night. the host said something like if this kind of small things can cheer you up, makes you smile. then you’re very lucky. in these two perspectives, i really feel lucky. it doesn’t take a lot to make me happy. and even though i’m not living the live i really want to live but i try hard to be content and enjoy what i have instead of looking at those things i don’t have or i can’t have. attitude is much more importnat than a lot of things in our life. i think.  i’m the kind of person that i always expect too much, want things to be better. i keep reflecting on my work, on how things can be done in a better way. good and bad. sleepy now. time for bed. happy long weekend!

F.Comparisons with adjectives

N1 be adj-er/more adj than N2

Tainan          is        cheaper          than   Taipei.

Taipei          is    more expensive        than   Tainan.

The weather     is       hotter         today.

cheap-cheaper, warm-warmer, clean,-cleaner, tall-taller

nice-nicer, safe-safer, close-closer, late-later

big-bigger, hot-hotter, sad-sadder, slim-slimmer

pretty-prettier, friendly-friendlier, funny-funnier, happy-happier

expensive-more expensive, stylish-more stylish, handsome-more handsome

good-better, bad-worse, far-farther/further, little-less

G.相等程度時用as…as

N1 be as  adj   as N2

My father   is     as   tall   as    my mother.

Your shoes   are    as  good  as    mine.
