Jessie’s eyes are closing, but there’s something keeping her awake: her students. They are going to play a game in Las Verges in an hour. She’s not sure if she can survive until now. Anyway, before that, she probably wants to finish finish her post for the day. Another task from this book will change your life:
Day 9 As any peasant worth his salt will tell you, the early morning is the best part of the day, so set the alarm for 5 o’clock and rise and shine.
Do something before breakfast today:
Watch the sunrise.
Gossip about your neighbors with the garbagemen.
Go for a five-mile run.
Call a friend and express surprise they’re not up yet.
Find out what’s on TV at this hour.
Click morning dew off a leaf.
Milk a cow.
Wow, so she had to get up at 5 o’clock this morning. Hmm, there’s no way she could do that. She usually gets up around noon if she doesn’t have to teach in the morning. So, there’s no surprise she got up at 8:10 in a panic cause she needed to get out of her house to catch the bus and the MRT in 20 minutes. She hurried out with eating breakfast, not like she did the day before, getting up at 7.30 and enjoyed her breakfast at home.
On her way to work, she’s wondering what she could do before breakfast. She read the book and got some ideas. However, she realized that she didn’t bring a book with her, nor did she bring her earbuds. She couldn’t read or listen to music on the busy MRT. What could she do? Well, she realized one thing. She could think and not many people do that. People are always busy doing things. They go to school, go to work, go home, go somewhere to have fun, go somewhere to make a living. On their way to where they want to be, they read, they listen to music, they play games, they watch videos. How much time do they stop and think? Jessie wondered.
Perhaps the writer of the book wasn’t just mess people around. Perhaps the writer wants people to think in a different way ? Everyone lives their daily boring routine day in day out. People who read this book and start to follow the instructions probably are desperate for a change. Well, a lot of people don’t like stable life because it could be boring and a lot of time, it is. However, you do have to pay for an exciting life. There’s definitely a price. It’s not too bad to have an ordinary life, Jessie thinks. It’s just how you make an ordinary life interesting.
Jessie has been feeling quite good for a while, which worries her sometimes. She knows herself well. Her life doesn’t go smoothly like this and should she say her moods don’t go on like that from her experience observing herself over all these years. Well, one thing she does well now is that she tries not too worry about things too much before they happen. Deal with it when it comes.
This morning, she was standing on the busy rush hour MRT, and decided not to struggle. So she did nothing. She went to work, taught for two hours and then ate her breakfast around 12 p.m. That’s it. Not too bad. At least she made some money before her breakfast. Haha. Good enough for her 🙂
Well, it seems like the game still has a long way to come and she’s ready for bed cause she has a class in the morning. She wonders if her students for tomorrow’s class are watching the same game now. haha. She’s just listening and writing at the same time cause other teams are play the game, not her students. Anyway, she has to finish this here. She’s not sure why she writes this way. probably wanted to be consistent with the chinese version. she’s too lazy to type all the capital letters here and there. it’s diary, talking nonsense diary. perhaps someone reading this will say it looks like it was written by a kindergarten kid. it doesn’t matter. she’s just practicing and as she always says to her students: practice makes perfect. well, if not, makes it better 🙂 good night
