Don’t blame me – it’s not my fault. 別怪我，這不是我的錯。

 

這好像常聽到吧？事情發生了，千錯萬錯，都是別人的錯，都不是我的錯啊，呵呵。前幾天學生問潔西那個黑心油，地溝油英文怎麼說，潔西又被考倒了啊，潔西跟同學說恩，最近沒看台灣的英文新聞，不太清楚，先用 fake oil 假油好了，潔西最近身體不舒服，頭腦也不清楚啊！不然同學也可以用解釋的，不然去看一下台灣的中央社的英文新聞，或是 Taipei Times 或 China Post，上面應該都有。常常被考倒的潔西趕快來去查一下，教學相長，順便學些東西，不過剛剛不知道為什麼打出教學香腸，哈哈，肚子餓了嗎？

 

潔西跟學生說可以問Google大師 ，打黑心油 英文 出來的有徐薇英語教室用的 adulterated oil 劣質油，adulterate 這個字是動詞，指的是在實物或水裡面加入比較差的品質的東西。

 

不過呢用地溝油 英文 打出來，可以找到 gutter oil 這個字，再用 gutter oil Taiwan 去找，就可以找出很多相關的報導了。潔西跟同學說不會的可以問 Google 大師的時候，有些同學會很不以為然，覺得找出來是一些不正確的，錯誤的東西，恩，那要看你怎麼找囉。然後有個東西很重要，叫做來源。

 

潔西常常試著跟同學說，網路世界很大很好用，但是上面的東西是真是假是對的是錯的，要培養自己的判斷力，要能自己去判斷，通常看那些網站的來源，有時會看到同學轉貼一些一看就知道是造假的網站，或者有些人會被媒體一些聳動的新聞 sensational news 所煽動，分享前跟按讚前先想想吧！

 

潔西通常這種東西會找國際知名的大報紙，有時候比較本土的東西，每個外國網站翻出來的東西也會不太一樣，而且假如直翻，當在跟外國人溝通的時候，他們也不一定會懂。

 

潔西大概看了 The New York Times 紐約時報， Time 時代雜誌， BBC 英國廣播公司三篇文章，下面是裡面用到的一些用詞，潔西整理一下中英文對照

黑心油： tainted-cooking-oil (污染食用油) ， contaminated oil (污染的油) ， recycled oil (回收油) ， dirty cooking oil (骯髒的食用油)

地溝油： gutter oil

gutter oil – a potentially harmful blend oil extracted from food waste, offal and the byproducts of tanneries.
時代雜誌解釋了地溝油，因為講地溝油外國人看得懂英文字 gutter 排水溝， oil 油，但也不知道意思，所以有解釋說地溝油是一種從廚餘，動物內臟，跟皮革製造的副產品所提煉的一種有潛在傷害的混合油。

廚餘： food waste，餐廳廚餘： restaurant waste

食物品質標準： food quality standards

食物安全： food safety

回收： recall
All the items have now been recalled. 所有的產品現在都被回收。

下架： remove from the store shelves
Any tainted foods should be removed from store shelves immediately. 任何污染的食品應該立即下架。

假蛋： fake eggs

劣質奶粉： adulterated baby milk formula

 

明明是要放歌的，怎麼可以扯這麼多，這就是潔西啊，呵呵。手又快斷掉了，所以趕快介紹一下，這是知名蘇格蘭 DJ Calvin Harris 的新歌 Blame ，先前不知道 Calvin Harris 是蘇格蘭人啊，真好奇他對公投 referendum 的看法是什麼啊？

 

這首 Blame 是由英格蘭的創作型靈魂樂歌手 John Newman 所跨刀演唱。老實說，潔西第一次聽，有點失望，覺得不怎麼樣啊，歌詞也是，因為假如聽過 John Newman 的 Love Me Again 就知道，感覺這兩首歌很相似，但是 Blame 有點不太夠力啊， John Newman 在 Love Me Again 裡面那種投入百分百感情的唱腔還有轉音假音，跟 Sam Smith 是有點比的啊。

 

看了一下樂評，恩，大致好評，也有人跟潔西的想法一樣，剛聽還好，但是多聽幾次還是覺得不錯聽，所以呢潔西今天就兩首一起翻，所以手快斷掉了，昨天上課上到最後就已經用左手寫黑板，因為潔西病到今天第五天啊，明天再解釋，覺得手都不是自己的了，昨天右手真的沒力寫不出來，上到第四堂課，只好對不起同學，用左手寫醜醜大大的字，為什麼能用左手寫板書呢？因為先前右手受傷寫不出來又還是很愛寫的時候練出來的啊，哈哈哈。自己都覺得自己超好笑。

 

還想寫昨天發生的一段小線的故事，不過明天寫好了，再寫下去手真的會廢掉，大家晚安 PS: 大家一起幫潔西祈禱我早日康復吧，潔西覺得再病下去要瘋了啊，頭腦轉的很快想做很多事，一整個力不從心的無奈真的超討厭的啊！

 

啊，還有一些從 Longman 朗文字典裡面出來的怪罪別人的單字

1. 怪別人怎麼說呢？ blame 是個動詞，直接說 blame someone 就可以

I blame his mother. She does everything for him.
我怪他的媽媽。她幫他做每件事。

 

2. 為了某件事怪某個人可以用下面這個用法，事情後面的介系詞用 for
blame somebody/something for something 為了某件事怪某個人

Marie still blames herself for Patrick’s death.
瑪莉仍然把派翠克的死怪在她自己身上。

The report blames poor safety standards for the accident.
那篇報告把那個意外歸責於不良的安全標準。

 

3. 要把某件事怪在某個人或某件事上面的介系詞用 on
blame something on somebody/something 把某件事怪罪在某人或某事上

One of the computers is broken and she’s blaming it on me.
其中一台電腦壞了，她怪在我身上。

The crash was blamed on pilot error.
墜機歸責於機師的錯誤。(也就是因為機師的失誤導致墜機)

 

4. 某人或某事是某個不好的事件發生的原因

somebody/something is to blame (for something)

I am to blame. 該怪我。

Television is partly to blame. 電視是一部分該怪罪的原因。

The hot weather is partly to blame for the water shortage. 缺水的部分原因是因為炎熱的天氣。

Officials believe that more than one person may be to blame for the fire. 政府官員認為要為火災負責的人可能不止是只有一個人。

 

5. I don’t blame you/you can hardly blame him:用來說你認為某人做的事是情有可原的

She left her husband. I don’t blame her, after the way he treated her.
她離開她老公。我不怪她，在他那樣對待她之後。

You can hardly blame him for not waiting.
你很難怪他不等。(或許遲到了兩個小時，所以不等不是他的錯的意思)

 

6. Don’t blame me (口語) 到時候不要怪我：用在當你勸告某人不要做某件事，但是你知道他們無論如何還是會去做

Buy it then, but don’t blame me when it breaks down
那就買啊，但是當它壞掉的時候不要怪我。

 

7. somebody only has himself/herself to blame (口語) 某能只能怪他/她自己： 用來說某個人的過錯是他們自己的錯
If he fails his exams, he’ll only have himself to blames. 假如他考試沒過，他就只能怪他自己。
