Have you ever …?

Those were the days.

I have seen the Queen.

I have had seven beers in one night.

I have eaten Moroccan food.

I have been to the smallest country in the world: Vatican.

I have jumped into a lake late at night. I have swum in the lake at night.

past ——x——now————— future        x: event/activity/action

I have dated foreigners.  I haven’t dated foreigners. Have you ever dated foreigners?

I have swum in the sea.

She has been to Russia.   She has gone to Russia.  I have gone to Japan. (X)

I have been to Japan.

I went to Japan this August.

This is the best movie I’ve ever seen.

Have you ever played golf?

Has he ever played chess?

I have played golf. (O)

I have ever played golf. (X)

I have never eaten sashimi.

I have not eaten durian.

I have never not been to America.

I have never been to America.

I have not been to America.

Have you ever had wine? = Have you had wine?

Yes, I have had wine. (O)  Yes, I have ever had wine. (X)

No, I have never had wine. (O)   No, I haven’t had wine. (O)

No, I haven’t never had wine. (X)
