     Q. Have you seen my scissors?     A. Those scissors are sharp.  (x)

     Q. Have you met the new staff?   A. No, it’s not the same stuff. (x)

     Q. Where can I buy a cheap heater? A. This heater is very good. (x)

     Q. What is she going to do next? A: He’s going to take a vacation.(x)

     Q. When will the concert start? A: It started thirty minutes ago.(x)

第一種 WH Questions :以 WH疑問詞 what, where, when, why, who, how, 等開頭的問句。 但是有時可能不直接問,會用插入句Do you know where…

Q. Do you know where my keys are?  A. In the drawer, as usual.

Q. How long did you have to wait?     A. Not as long as I expected.

Q. When is the new intern’s first day?  A. I’m not in charge of the interns this year.

Q. What was the topic of yesterday’s workshop?  A. I was meeting with clients all day.

What: What are your co-workers like?

What kind of refreshment are they planning for the reception?

What does your father do for a living?

Who:  Who’s working on the revising project?

Who’ll be joining us for dinner?

Whose: Whose cell phone is this?

Where: Excuse me. Where are the stairs?

Which country did Susan say she’s from?

When: When are you starting your new job?

What time does the post office open on Saturdays?

Why: Why is Ms. Lin in such a good mood?

Why didn’t you come to the party?

How: How do you like the new filing system?

How did Jim manage to pay for the trip?

       How long/how often/how much/ how many …

第二種 Yes/No 問句:指的是以助動詞 do, does, am, is, are, was, were, have, has, will,… Don’t you …, Won’t you …, Didn’t you …, 等。

Q. Does the apartment building have a parking area?  A. There’s a public garage close by.

Q. Is there a dressing room where I can try these jeans on?  A. They’re all occupied now.

Q. Wasn’t the office furniture shipped last month?  A. The delivery’s been delayed.

Q. Won’t Tom be organizing the conference this year?  A. No, he’s taking a year off.

Q. Will we hire one delivery driver or two?  A. We really need two.

Q. Do you work in marketing or public policy?  A. Neither, actually.

Q. Have we been selling more orange juice or apple juice?  A. About the same of both.

Q. Would you like indoor or outdoor seating?  A. Isn’t it supposed to rain?

Q. The storage closet is locked, isn’t it?  A. Yes, but I’ll give you the key.

Q. You can’t get us an earlier flight, can you?  A. No, they’re all fully booked.

Q. That was a short movie, wasn’t it?  A. You’re right. It was only an hour.

Q. Today’s all-staff meeting wasn’t well attended, was it? A. Many employees are out of the office.

Q. The registration deadline is on Friday.  A. Where did you hear that?

Q. I really need the updated expense report.  A. I’ll send it as soon as possible.

Q. I’m going to put on my sweater.  A. I could turn the heat on.

Q. This e-mail from Mr. Brown is rather unclear.  A. I didn’t understand it either.

Q. Can I get you anything?  A. Can I have a coke, please?

Q. Would you like some help with those?  A. Thanks. They’re not heavy.

Q. How did the focus group respond to our new logo?  A. They liked it.

Q. Let’s discuss the building designs this morning.  A. We can do it this afternoon instead.

Q. Why don’t we submit the supply request?  A. OK, I’ll print it out.
