Would you mind…, Do you mind if …, Would you mind if …後面動詞怎麼加呢？分不清的可以看一下

在家靠父母，出外靠朋友，都不在身邊的時候呢？就是靠陌生人囉。今天要填個表格，身上沒有筆，隔壁坐個外國人，該說什麼呢？要請求別人做某件事或請求別人答應某件事最常用的就是下面幾個用法

主詞是 Ｉ

Can I borrow your pen?

Could I borrow your pen?

May I borrow your pen?

主詞是  you

Can you lend me your pen?

Will you lend me your pen?

Could you lend me your pen?

Would you lend me your pen?

我能夠跟你借筆嗎？

差別在哪？客氣度，Can, Will 是比較一般，May, Would, Could 比較有禮。

另外主詞是 I 的時候可以用 Can I …? Could I …? May I …? 主詞是 you 的時候只可以用 Can you …? Will you …? Could you …? Would you …?

其實還有很多更客氣地平常有聽到聽的懂，只是沒有特別記住。比方說下面的例子：

Do you mind if …

Do you mind if I open the window?

你介意我開窗戶嗎。？

Would it be all right if S + V2

Would it be all right if I stayed at your place?

我可以住在你家嗎？

Would you mind if S + V2

Would you mind if I turned off the TV？

你介意我關電視嗎。

上面兩個比較特別的地方是請求的部分都要用動詞的過去式，假設語氣的用法。

I was wondering if S could + V1

I was wondering if I could use your computer?

我在想我能不能用你的電腦？

這個句子算是固定句型，看起來是過去式，其實問的是現在。

Would you mind + V-ing

Would you mind making some coffee for me?

你介意幫我泡咖啡嗎？

最後這個是 mind 這個動詞後面要加動名詞，不要忘記了！

Mind 有點混淆對不對？潔西是這麼記的，mind 後面直接加動詞的話要接 ing 。Do you mind if …因為是簡單式就加原型，而 Would it be all right if…, Would you mind if…這兩個有假設語氣 would 過去是，所以後面動詞也用過去式。這樣有記住嗎？

今天下雨，溫度沒什麼差別，大家都覺得變冷了嗎？潔西覺得似乎有一點呢。今天早上起來因為想錄自然發音的講義，試了一下YouTube直撥，超失敗，畫面很奇怪，潔西又不會調，玩了一下放棄，吃中餐，然後去復健，然後回來發呆，繼續打完這一篇。謝謝大家的支持跟鼓勵，潔西其實問題蠻多的，但是呢也還好慢慢也在進步加油中，只能靠自己啊，自己秀秀。傍晚了，又是一天要過去，給自己到年後吧，想要上課的人請再多等待一下，潔西也希望能把講義整理得再好一點啊！每天都要加油，週末下雨有點討厭吧？做點靜態的事也不錯，把心放輕鬆，享受下雨天的悠哉。每天都要想辦法享受生活，潔西今天最享受的應該是發文吧，寫寫東西心情會不錯喔。祝大家都有雨天的好心情！

請求允許與要求別人做某事 Do you mind if I + V1? Would you mind + V-ing?

助動詞對台灣學生來說有點困難，因為英文的助動詞功用很多，除了拿來造問句改否定外，還可以表時態，另外有一種比較困擾的是叫做語態，就是助動詞本身有特殊的意思，比方說表達能力，請求允許，要求，給建議等等。建議從對話，文章當中去瞭解用法多學習，多運用。今天要說的兩個事請求允許跟要求別人做某事。也就是要問人家可不可以做某件事，跟要求別人幫你做某件事。

同學常常弄不清楚什麼時候用Can I …? Could you … ? 為什麼不能用Will I…？為什麼不能用May you…? 恩，有些東西有固定的用法，所以麻煩同學記一下下面兩個重點。

1. 請求別人的允許

可以用你的電話嗎？Can I use your phone? Could I use your phone? May I use your phone? 都可以，但是不能說Will I use your phone? 

2. 要求別人做某件事

可以幫我開門嗎？Can you open the door? Could you open the door? Will you open the door? Would you open the door? 都可以，但是不能說May you open the door?

為什麼？真的沒有為什麼？英文不是潔西發明的，不然一定讓他更容易，呵呵。語言這種東西叫做約定俗成，就是這樣了，學別人的語言只好麻煩記一下母語使用者的用法，不要自己發明。常常用常常聽，就會記起來囉。先前有寫過助動詞。在5 文法1.5 助動詞的篇章下。還是不懂的可以參考一下。這個星期教到Do you mind if I + V1? 跟Would you mind if I + V1? 這兩個用法也是用在請求別人允許你做某件事，用法跟句型看起來很像，但是不太一樣。下面是參考Touchstone 2 作的講義，同學可以看一下，順便練習一下。練習題的解答在最後面。這裡格式有點亂。希望同學看了有點概念。加油！

Do you mind if I + V1?

Would you mind + V-ing?

這兩個句型看起來很像，很容易混淆，但是句型跟意思都大不同。

A. 下面兩個句子，哪一個是a. 別人要你做某事，b. 別人要你允許他們做某事

_____ Would you mind opening the window?

_____ Do you mind if I open the window?

B. Would you mind + V-ing?

你可以做這件事嗎？你介意做這件事嗎？其實意思是要請求別人去做某件事情的客氣用法。記得mind後面的動詞要改成動名詞V-ing。

  1. Would you mind answering the phone for me? 可以幫我聽電話嗎？
  2. Would you mind handing me the newspaper? 可以把報紙遞給我嗎？
  3. Would you mind setting the table for me? 可以幫我把餐具擺好嗎？
  4. ＿＿＿＿＿＿＿＿＿＿＿＿＿＿＿＿＿＿＿？可以幫我泡咖啡嗎？
  5. ＿＿＿＿＿＿＿＿＿＿＿＿＿＿＿＿＿＿＿？可以幫我一起洗碗嗎？

  1. Do you mind if I + V1?

你介意假如我做某件事嗎？這是詢問別人的許可，問別人自己可不可以做某件事。這個句型Do you mind後面加的是一個名詞子句If + S + V1。所以I後面要接動詞原型。

  1. Do you mind if I use your phone? 我可以借用你的電話嗎？
  2. Do you mind if I put on a CD? 我可以放CD嗎？
  3. Do you mind if I open a window? 我可以開扇窗戶嗎？
  4. ＿＿＿＿＿＿＿＿＿＿＿＿＿＿？我可以拿片餅乾嗎？
  5. ＿＿＿＿＿＿＿＿＿＿＿＿＿＿？我可以拿一杯水嗎？
  6. ＿＿＿＿＿＿＿＿＿＿＿＿＿＿？我可以開電視嗎？

D. 請求允許 asking for permission

要求別人同意你做某件事情的時候也可以說

1. Can I + V1? Could I + V1? May I + V1?  我可以做某事嗎？

同意的時候回答

Yes. / Sure. / Of course. / OK. / No problem. / Go (right) ahead.

2. Do you mind if I + V1? 你介意我做某事嗎？

同意的時候回答

No, go ahead. / No, not at all. / No. No problem.

這裡因為表示不介意，所以要回答No，與1剛好相反，特別注意。

A: Can I turn on the TV?               B: Yes.

A: Could I use your computer?          B: OK. No problem.

A: May I sue this phone?               B: Sure. Go ahead.

A: Do you mind if I take a picture here? B: No, not at all.

但是假如不同意別人做某件事的時候，回答時多會先說個道歉apology，再加上一個原因reason，這樣比較有禮貌，一般也會用比較委婉的拒絕。

可以用No, please don’t. 用No, you can’t. No, you may not. 感覺比較強烈。

假如用Do you mind if I smoke? 你介意我抽煙嗎？回答的時候介意就用用Yes，但可以委婉一點，比方說As a matter of fact, I do. I’m allergic to cigarette smoke. 說實在的，我介意。我對香煙過敏。

A: Can I turn on the TV?  我可以開電視嗎？

B: I’m sorry, but the baby is sleeping.  不好意思，但是嬰兒正在睡覺。

道歉              原因

A: Do you mind if I take a picture here? 我可以在這兒拍照嗎？

B: I’m sorry, but you are not allowed to take pictures here.

不好意思，但這兒不允許拍照。

E. 請求requesting

要求別人做某件事的時候可以說

1. Will you + V1? Would you + V1? Can you + V1? Could you+ V1? 你可以做某事嗎？

同意的時候的回答

Of course. / Certainly. / No problem. / Sure.

其中Sure. / No problem. 是用在非正式的場合

2. Would you mind + V-ing?

同意的時候回答

No, go ahead. / No, not at all. / No. No problem.

不介意的話要回答No.剛好相反，特別注意。

A: Would you please close the window?               B: Certainly.

A: Could you call me tomorrow?                      B: Of course.

A: Will you help me with my homework?              B: Sure.

A: Can you turn down the music?                     B: No problem.

A: Do you mind turning on the air conditioner for me? B: No, not at all.

但是假如不同意的時候用回答時，只可用I can’t. 而不用won’t, wouldn’t, couldn’t這些用法。通常在拒絕請求的時候多會先道歉apology，再加上一個解釋explanation，比較有禮。回答Do you mind + V-ing? 的句子的時候相同。

A: Could you lend me $10,000?  可以借我一萬元嗎？

B: I’m sorry, I can’t. I don’t have that much money.

不好意思，但是我感冒了，這兒有點冷。
